Ghorepani Poonhill Trekking

An awesome trek on the mid hills of Annapurna Himalaya where you can explore fascinating traditional farm villages with tremendous views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Manaslu mountains including Machapuchare the  Fish Tail peak, on the daily walk around southern hills of Annapurna Himalaya range. Foot and Shadows Walking Holiday Tours to Ghorepani & Pun Hill trekking  start with a scenic drive to scenic touristic Pokhara where the Annapurna mountains on reflects  on its pristine Phewa / Begnas Lakes. Walk follows on the old Nepal / Tibet Trans-Himalayan Caravan Trail to Ghorepani through enchanting rhododendron forest and to Pun Hill at 3,210 m the highest spot of this trip with mind-blowing panorama of mountains with stunning sunrise views. Return trek leads through Ghandruk after a marvelous time in the high hills, concluding Ghorepani & Poon Hill trekking at picturesque Pokhara with a drive back to Kathmandu, after great services of Foot and Shadows Walking Holiday Tours and its friendly guides and staff.

Day 01:         Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02:         Sightseeing tour and trek preparation.
Day 03:         Drive or fly to Pokhara 950m (30 mins flight and 6 hrs drive)
Day 04:         Drive to Nayapul 1,100m and trek to Tirkhedhuga 1,450m.

Day 05:         Trek to Ghorepani 2,874m – 05 hrs.

Day 06:         Morning hike to Pun-Hill and trek to Tadapani 2,721m – 05 hrs.

Day 07:         Trek to Ghandruk 1,951m – 04 hrs.

Day 08:         Trek to Nayapul 1,100m and drive to Pokhara.

Day 09:         Drive / Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 10:         Depart Kathmandu for international flight homeward bound.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On reaching at Kathmandu international airport via respective airlines and countries, received by Foot and Shadow Walking Holiday staff and transfer to hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city, after getting refreshed our guide will brief  information about  tours and Ghorepani & Poon Hill trekking and with welcome dinner.

Day 02:Sightseeing tour and trek preparation.
After breakfast our city guide will take you on sightseeing tour at places of interest as Kathmandu valley full of world heritage sites with temples, monasteries, stupa’s and old king’s palace after an enjoyable interesting tour back to the hotel, preparation for the trek to Annapurna area.

Day 03: Drive or fly to Pokhara 950m – 06 hrs journey.
Morning travel by tourist coach or in private vehicle on the scenic highway towards amazing Pokhara valley driving leads through Himalayan foothills, on arrival at Pokhara transfer to respective hotels close to beautiful Phewa Lake with afternoon free for short walks.
( flying option a 30 minutes flight to Pokhara)

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul 1,100m begin trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,450m.
Morning 2 hours drive from Pokhara heading towards mid hills towns and villages. Superb views of rolling landscapes and Annapurna mountain range including the majestic Mt. Machapuchare “The Fish Tail” on the drive to Nayapul (new bridge) located on the Pokhara-Baglung / Beni highway. From here starting with gradual walk through nice Bhirethati village, on ol Nepal / Tibet Trans-Himalayan Salt Trade Route, walking past farm lands and traditional villages to reach at Tirkhedhuga village for the first night stay in the comfort of a nice cozy lodge after a day’s good walk of four hours.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani 2,874m – 05 hrs walk.

Morning walk from Tirkhedhuga leads to a steep up for about two hours on the stone steps all the way Ulleri village, with grand views of the surrounding landscapes and of snow capped peaks of Annapurna South and Mt. Machapuchare. From Ulleri village on the winding path through oaks-pines and rhododendron forest, and then taking a short uphill walk as the height gains slowly reaching at Ghorepani- Deurali village. Ghorepani with fabulous views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Vara-Shikar or Annapurna Fang, this lovely village located at the base of Poon Hill populated with Pun, Magar ethnic hill tribe.

Day 06: Morning hike to Poon-Hill trek to Tadapani 2,721m – 05 hrs.

Morning, an hour hike up to Pun-Hill at 3,210m with magnificent sunrise views over mountain range from Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu to Annapurna and as far to Ganesh Himal including Mt. Machapuchare “The Fish Tail”. After a wonderful panorama from Ghorepani walk towards Tadapani, leading uphill through lovely rhododendron forest all the way to Tadapani for the overnight stop.
Tadapani located in the midst of rhododendron, magnolia and oaks forest with views of Mt. Maccahapuchare and Annapurna South.

Day 07: Trek to Ghandruk 1,951m – 04 hours.

Today a short walk to Ghandruk village, descend through forests with views of snow capped mountains a pleasant walk leads to Ghandruk village for lunch and overnight stop. In Ghandruk explore the Gurung village, one of the largest villages around Annapurna region. The men folk of Ghandruk village have longs tradition of supplying some of the finest soldiers in the Gorkha Regiment to both British and Indian armies.

Day 08: Trek to  Nayapul 1,100m and Drive back to Pokhara.
After a nice time at Ghandruk village, morning walk on the downhill path and from here we drive back to Pokhara after a wonderful time in the high hills.

Day 09: Drive to Kathmandu.
Morning a drive to Kathmandu after a wonderful experience to Ghorepani & Poon Hill trekking, on reaching Kathmandu transfer to respective hotels after free at leisure for individual activities and shopping.

Day 10: Depart Kathmandu for international flight homeward bound.
Last day in amazing Nepal, after a wonderful time Ghorepani & Poon Hill trekking with grand services of Foot and Shadows Walking Holiday Tours, as per your international flight departure and reporting time, our guide and staff transfer you  airport for your onward flight homeward bound or to next respective countries.
