Outline Itinerary:

Day 01:            Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02:            Sightseeing tour and trek preparation.
Day 03:            Fly to Lukla 2,820 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m – 04 hrs.
Day 04:            Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 05 hrs.

Day 05:            Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.

Day 06:            Trek to Thame 3,800 m – 05 hours.

Day 07:            Trek to Marlung 4,137m – 05 hours.

Day 08:            Trek to Lungdeng 4, 600m – 04 hours.

Day 09:            Cross Renjo- La 5,465m and trek to Gokyo Lake 4,800 m – 07 hrs.

Day 10:            Rest day at Gokyo Lake preparation for Tsho – la pass.

Day 11:            Hike to Gokyo Ri 5,330 m and trek to Thagnag 4,750 m – 04 hrs.

Day 12:            Cross Cho – la Pass 5,367 m and to Dzongla 4,850m – 07 hrs.

Day 13:            Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m – 05 hrs.

Day 14:            Trek to Gorak Shep 5,170 m and to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m.

Day 15:            Hike to Kalapathar 5,545 m and trek to Lobuche – 04 hrs.
Day 16:            Cross Kongma La 5,535m and to Dingboche 4,340m – 07 hrs.
Day 17:            Trek to Thyangboche 3,867m – 05 hrs.
Day 18:            Trek to Monjo 2,860m – 06 hrs.
Day 19:            Trek back to Lukla – 04 hrs.
Day 20:            Fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure.
Day 21:            In Kathmandu free day with optional sightseeing tour.
Day 22:            Depart Kathmandu for international flight homeward bound.

Day 01:            Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On reaching at Kathmandu international airport via respective airlines and countries, received by Foot and Shadow Walking Holiday staff and transfer to hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city, after getting refreshed our guide will brief with information on hotel, culture, do’s and don’ts, Everest Three High Passes trekking with welcome dinner.

Day 02:            Sightseeing tour and trek preparation.
After breakfast our city guide take you on sightseeing tour at places of interest as Kathmandu valley full of world heritage sites with temples, monasteries, Stupa and old king’s palace after an enjoyable interesting tour back to hotel, preparation for Everest Three Passes trekking.

Day 03:            Fly to Lukla 2,820 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m – 04 hrs.
Morning a short drive to domestic airport for scenic flight to Lukla with views of mountains during 30 mins flight, at Lukla start the walk with downhill passing traditional Sherpa villages and farm lands to reach at Phakding for overnight stop near Dudh Kosi River

Day 04:            Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 05 hrs.
After Phakding walk beings to famous Namche Bazaar a major town of Khumbu region, as the walk leads on gradual path crossing river several time within pine and rhododendron forest.


On reaching entrance of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo and towards the last village of Jorsalle and continue walk on river banks, and then a long climb leading at Namche Bazaar for overnight stops.


Day 05:            Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
At Namche a necessary acclimatization and rest day, before heading higher altitude towards Everest base camp. Namche a moderate size village or a town with many shops, stores, banks and ATM with Cyber Café around, optional walk to Park museum with information of the area including grand vista of Mt. Everest and majestic Ama-Dablam peak.

For energetic people can take a hike to Everest View hotel, Khumjung and Khunde village located on the glacial valley beneath holy Khumbi-la peak (patron of Khumbu Sherpa’s)


Day 06:            Trek to Thame 3,880m – 04 hours.

A pleasant walk through lovely forest of rhododendron, oaks and pines trees, passing small farm villages following Bhote Koshi River upstream to Thamo village with small hydro project for electricity around Khumbu villages, from here reaching a small bridge, with beautiful Bhuddhist Rock Wall Paintings on a rock wall, walk for another 45 minutes to Thame a nice quaint village seldom visited by trekkers with time here visit the famous Thame monastery which is the oldest of the region.


Day 07:            Trek to Marlung 4,137 m – 04 hours.

Morning visit Thame monastery, walk begins towards our first pass of this adventure, following the path to Marlung village along Bhote Koshi River, visiting villages of Thyangmoche and Hungmo, and then into complete wilderness with few houses and Sheppard’s pasture land, walk leads to open area of sparse vegetation with arctic climate zone, finally reaching overnight stop at Marlung after passing village of Taranga, through yak field.


Day 08:            Trek to Lungden 4,600 m – 04 hours.

Morning walk to Lungden through old and authentic Himalayan villages blending well in this natural surrounding landscape; this is the old salt trade route between Nepal and Tibet, after leaving the route to Tibet trail, then heading north east to our overnight stop at Lungdeng a small village with fantastic panorama of surrounding high snow mountains.


Day 09:            Trek to Renjo- La 5,465 m descends to Gokyo 4,800 m – 07 hrs.

From Lungden an exciting day to cross over the first high pass of this adventure, walk follows to a frozen ponds beneath Renjo La pass, with marvelous views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche, and then cross Renjo La pass at 5,465 m / 17,929 ft, one of the most difficult section of this adventure, on reaching the top with views of Mt. Cho-Oyu and other high peaks, from here descend to Gokyo valley for overnight stop in the comfort of a nice lodge by the emerald serene lake.


Day 10:            Rest day at Gokyo Lake.

A rest day which allows you to acclimatize better in this high altitude, with time to explore the surrounding area of this valley with stunning scenery of the first and the second lake of Gokyo.


Day 11:            Hike to Gokyo Ri at 5,330 m trek to Thangnag 4,750 m – 04 hrs.

Early morning hike to Gokyo Ri at 5,357 m, one of the highest point of this trek, after a steep hard climb offering splendid panorama of world’s highest mountains from Mt. Cho Oyo 8,201 m, with Gyachung Kang, Mt. Everest 8,848 m, Mt. Lhotse 8,516 m, Cholatse, Taweche and to the east Mt. Makalu at 8,463 m.

After a great time at the top Gokyo Ri a steep downhill walk to Gokyo and then continue few hours journey trek to Thangnag walking along the glacier moraines to reach the small settlement of Thangnag  for overnight stop.

Day 12:            Cross Cho-la 5,367m / 17,604 f and to Dzongla 4,850 m – 07 hrs.

Today, another exciting adventure crossing over high Tsho-la pass ( Chola), after an early breakfast following the path to a steep up then crossing a glacier on eastern side.


The top of the pass at 5,367m, (sometimes could be challenging to traverse in snow conditions), from the top views of mountains and Cholatse Glacier, then descend carefully to a small lake on the way to Dzongla for overnight stop after a hard day walk.


Day 13:             Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m – 05 hrs.

Today’s walk to Lobuche will be much easier on leaving Dzongla following the path that descends to yak herder’s summer pastures. Walk climbs up to a terminal debris of Khumbu Glacier, and continues on the pleasant gradual path all the way to Lobuche for overnight stay,
Lobuche a small hidden settlement with about 10 lodges and teahouses.


Day 14:            Trek to Gorakshep 5,170 m, Everest Base Camp 5, 364 m – 06 hrs.

The trail today is quite hard due to altitude gain with tremendous views of
Mt. Pumori, Lingtrin, Khumbutse and Mt. Everest world’s highest peak at 8,848 meters / 29,028 ft. After few hours of strenuous and scenic walk reaching at Gorakshep through moraine and icy path, Gorakshep houses 4 lodges, this place with the last lodge before Everest Base Camp, after a break here our journey continue to Everest Base Camp walking along then moraine with view of Khumbu Icefall and then reaching at Everest Base Camp our goal and destination of this adventurous memorable trek. After spending some time at the base camp, return journey back to Gorakshep for the overnight stop after fulfilling the high light of this trip.


Day 15:            Hike to Kalapatthar 5,545 m trek to Lobuche – 04 hrs.
Morning climb with a steep uphill to Kalapatthar for the most fantastic view of
Mt. Everest with other surroundings peaks all the way to south eastern horizon. Kalapatthar at 5,545 m the scenic view top for entire south face of Mt. Everest and other high snow capped peaks, after a memorable moment here and the highest point of this awesome trek, spending some time here a steep downhill back to Gorakshep and continue the journey all the way to Lobuche for lunch and overnight stop, afternoon at leisure rest and preparation for the last high pass of this awesome adventure..


Day 16:            Cross Kongma La 5,535 m to Dingboche 4, 330m – 08 hrs.

Today last Big Day! Crossing over Kongma La, starting early before dawn, leading to Khumbu glacier and moraine, from here onwards on rocky trail beneath Kongma-la and Kongma or Mehra peak, after a good rest traverse over Kongma-la pass at 5,535 m / 18,159 ft enclosed between Nuptse, Mehara and Pokalde peaks. After descend walk leads on a fine path to Imjatse valley with incredible views of Island peak, Ama-Dablam and other peaks.


On reaching Bibre few hours of pleasant walk to Dingboche village with about 20 fine lodges, after a hard day walk retire in one of the fine and cozy lodge for overnight at Dingboche.


Day 17:            Trek to Tengboche 3,867 m – 05 hrs.

Leaving Dingboche with super views of Ama-Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, then heading on the downhill path and back to lower altitude and tree lines, walk leads past Pangboche and from the bridge an hour climb brings you to famous Thyangboche Monastery with amazing views of Everest and other peaks. At Thyangboche visit the monastery which is interesting with monks and priest on ceremonial prayer with chanting in a soothing environment.


Day 18:            Trek to Monjo 2,860m – 06 hrs.
After a grand time around high mountains of Khumbu, walk descend with a climb for an hour to Sanasa, from here a gradual path with short ups and downs to reach Namche Bazaar, after a break here walk back to Dudh Kosi river valley and to overnight stop at Monjo village near Sagarmatha National Park gate.

Day 19:            Trek to Lukla – 04 hrs.

Morning walk on a pleasant trail most of the way to reach at Phakding, and then with last climb for an hour to Lukla, at Lukla celebrate last night with fellow trekkers and staff including porters.
Day 20:            Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
From Lukla taking an early morning flight back to Kathmandu with views of mountains, on reaching Kathmandu airport, FSHT staff transfers you back to hotel around Thamel area with rest of the day free at leisure.


Day 21:            In Kathmandu free day with sightseeing tour.
We reserve this day as contingency (spare day), in case of flight delay and cancellation due to bad weather which might happen sometimes, as the Himalayan weather can be unpredictable, if all goes well have a free day or one can book for short sightseeing tour around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur.


Day 22:            Depart Kathmandu for international flight homeward bound.
Last day in amazing Nepal, after a wonderful time on Everest Three High Passes trekking with grand services of Foot and Shadow Walking Holiday Tours, as per your international flight departure and reporting time, our guide and staff transfer you to airport for your onward flight homeward bound or to next respective countries.
