Everest and on reaching Bhutan at Paro, view of Bhutan highest peak (Chomolhari) Jumolhari at 7,314meters high. Fascinating tour around Paro for two days with historical and cultural area, includes famous Taksang Monastery known as Tiger’s Nest, 17th centaury Ta-Dzong, and Druk Gyaldzong, from here a scenic drive to Thimphu with two nights in Bhutan capital city, the city with no traffic lights. In Thimphu visiting memorial stupa, indigenous hospital, where traditional medicine is still practiced and the painting school including its interesting markets and places of interest. Bhutan cultural tour concludes with a drive to Paro for the flight back to Kathmandu or to other respective Indian cities.

Day 01:      Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 03:      Fly to Paro-Bhutan via Druk Air.
Day 04:      In Paro for sightseeing tour.
Day 05:      In Paro visit Druk Gyaldzong.
Day 06:      Drive to Thimphu 54 k.m – 02 hrs journeys.
Day 07:      Drive back to Paro on-route visit Simtokh Dzong.

Day 08:      Morning drive to Paro airport for flight back to Kathmandu.

Trip detail:

Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On reaching at Kathmandu international airport via respective airlines and countries, received by Foot and Shadow Walking Holiday staff and transfer to hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city, after getting refreshed our guide will brief with information on hotel, culture, do’s and don’ts and Bhutan Cultural Tour with welcome dinner.

Day 02:  Sightseeing tour and trek preparation.
After breakfast our city guide will take you sightseeing tour at places of interest as Kathmandu valley full of world heritage sites with temples, monasteries, stupa’s and old king’s palace after an enjoyable interesting tour back to hotel, preparation for Bhutan Cultural Tour.

Day 03:  Fly to Paro 2,280 / 7,524 ft via Druk Air and transfer to hotel.
Depending upon the flight time to Paro, Bhutan either morning or in afternoon time, Foot and Shadows Walking holiday staff transfer you with a short drive to Kathmandu international airport, after checking in boarding in Bhutan national carrier “Druk Air” a super scenic flight to Paro with amazing views of high snow capped peaks including Mt. Everest, Makalu and Kanchenjunga and on reaching at Paro airport with mountains of Bhutan. At Paro airport after immigration and visa formalities our guide in Bhutan will receive for the drive to respective hotels in Paro, with afternoon free at leisure.

Day 04: In Paro 2,280m / 7,524 ft for sightseeing tour.
Morning after having breakfast in respective hotels, our native guide of Bhutan will take you on a pleasant walk or short drive and hour uphill steep climb to Bhutan’s famous old Taksang Monastery known as Tiger’s nest.  A place for retreats and meditation of many Buddhist monks and high priest of Bhutan, the monastery located within the overhanging rock cliff with superb views of Paro town and snow capped peaks towards north, from here with steep downhill a short drive to visit 17th centaury Ta-Dzong, later converted into the National Museum in 1967, afternoon free at leisure for stroll around Paro shops and markets.

Day 05: In Paro tour of Druk Gyaldzong.
Another day in Paro, which is a major town of Bhutan after Thimphu steeped in history and historical, cultural including some world heritage sites, our local guide will leads you on a full day tour of Paro with a visit around ruined fort which was built to commemorate the victory over Tibetan invaders in 17th century. After an impressive tour of Druk Gyaldzong, afternoon another interesting tour of Bhutan’s National Museum displaying rich collections of ancient treasures with fine arts and weapons.

Day 06:   Drive to Thimphu 2,320m / 7,656ft (54 k.m.) – 02 hrs journey.
Morning after breakfast depart for the capital city of Bhutan after a wonderful time in Paro, this is an interesting drive of two hours through the countryside dotted with farm villages and terraces with typical Bhutanese landscapes  and Buddhist culture architecture villages. Drive slowly reach Thimphu one of the few modern city of Bhutan and a capital, interesting to know that Thimphu the only city in the whole world without traffic lights, all the traffic controlled by traffic police and a whistle. In Thimphu check into the best hotels, after refreshment and lunch our guide will take you on a tour of memorial stupa, indigenous hospital, where traditional medicine is still practiced and the painting school.

Day 07: Drive back to Paro – 03 hrs with tour of Simtokh Dzong on route.

Morning at leisure for individual activities after a peaceful and pleasant time in Thimphu city, afternoon drive back to Paro, as the ride continues with few stop and a visit of 1927-29 AD fort built by King Shabdung Ngawang Namgyal, who unified the Kingdom of Bhutan.  After a pleasant drive and interesting moment on route reaching back at Paro, with time for another short tour of Paro visit of Fort ‘Simtokh Dzong’.

Day 08:  Morning drive to Paro airport for respective destinations.

As per the flight time to Kathmandu or connecting with other Indian cities, our Bhutan guide transfer you to Paro international airport for the flight back to Kathmandu, or flight to Delhi and to respective destination connecting with other international flight from Delhi onwards. For those flying back to Nepal on reaching Kathmandu airport foot and shadows walking holiday airport  representative will receive and transfer you hotel.

Day 09:       International departure for homeward bound.

Last day in amazing Nepal, after a wonderful time at Bhutan Cultural Tour with grand services of Foot and Shadows Walking Holiday Tours, as per your international flight departure and reporting time, our guide and staff transfer you to airport for your onward flight homeward bound or to next respective countries.

Bhutan has different climatic conditions so warm clothes are required during winter (pullovers or thick jackets) and in summer cotton clothes are preferably better and a light jacket.
