Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Inviting all interested travelers in our amazing, ever exciting and fabulous Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary Trekking, a holiday for all types of people, as this trek starts with a moderate uphill and downhill walk through interesting traditional Gurung villages a mid hill tribe of Annapurna area. Foot and Shadows Walking Holiday Tours to Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary starts with a scenic drive to scenic touristic Pokhara where the Annapurna mountains reflects on its pristine Phewa / Begnas Lakes. Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary follows the glacial Modi River upstream right up to its source at base camp and the sanctuary after passing through Ghandruk-Chomrong-Dovan and to the highest spot of this trip at 4,130 m around Annapurna base camp and sanctuary. Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary with grand views of Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545ft) Annapurna South (7,219m/23,693ft), Gangapurna (7,455m /24,457ft) and Annapurna III (7,555m /24,787ft), includes Mt. Machapuchare “Fish-tail” (6,997m) Tent Peak 5,663m. After a marvelous time in the high hills, concluding around Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking at Pokhara, and then a drive back to Kathmandu with great service of Foot and Shadow Walking Holiday Tours and its friendly guides and staff.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01:            Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02:            Sightseeing tour and trek preparation.
Day 03:            Drive or fly to Pokhara 950m (30 mins flight and 6 hrs drive)
Day 04:            Drive to Nayapul 1,100m and trek to Ghandruk 1,750m.
Day 05:            Trek to Chomrong 1,951m – 06 hrs.
Day 06:            Trek to Dovan 2,130m via Bamboo 2,050m – 06 hrs.
Day 07:            Trek to Machapuchare Base Camp 3,720m – 06 hrs.
Day 08:            At MBC with hike to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130m – 04 hrs.
Day 09:            Trek to Bamboo – 06 hrs.
Day 10:            Trek to Jhinu danda with hot spring 1,700m – 05 hours.
Day 11:            Trek to Bhirethati 1,100 m and drive back to Pokhara.
Day 12:            Drive / Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 13:            Depart Kathmandu for international flight homeward bound.

While in Pokhara with time enough time join in our exciting adventure sports

Day 01:            Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On reaching at Kathmandu international airport via respective airlines and countries, received by Foot and Shadow Walking Holiday staff and transfer to hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city, after getting refreshed our guide will brief with information on hotel, culture, do’s and don’ts and Annapurna base camp trekking and with welcome dinner.

Day 02:            Sightseeing tour and trek preparation.
After breakfast our city guide will take you on sightseeing tour at places of interest as Kathmandu valley full of world heritage sites with temples, monasteries, stupa’s and old king’s palace after an enjoyable interesting tour back to hotel, preparation for the trek to Annapurna base camp.

Day 03:            Drive or fly to Pokhara 950m – 06 hrs journey distance 220 k.m.
Morning travel by tourist coach or in private vehicle on the scenic highway towards amazing Pokhara valley driving leads through Himalayan foothills, on arrival at Pokhara transfer to respective hotels close to beautiful Phewa Lake with afternoon free for short walks.
( flying option a 30 minutes flight to Pokhara)

Day 04:            Drive to Nayapul 1,100m begin trek to Ghandruk 1,750m.
Morning 2 hours drive from Pokhara heading towards mid hills towns and villages. Superb views of rolling landscapes and Annapurna mountain range including the majestic Mt. Machapuchare “The Fish Tail” on the drive to Nayapul (new bridge) located on the Pokhara-Baglung / Beni highway. From here starting our adventure with gentle walk through nice village of Bhirethati, encountering trekkers, mules and donkey trains, as our walk leads through farm villages following the Modi river for some time, and then with an uphill in neat stone paved trail to reach our first overnight stop in the mountain village in Ghandruk a large and major villages around d Annapurna region. The Gurung the main habitat of this area are famous as gallant soldiers and mercenaries in foreign army legion with British and Indian Gorkha battalions.

Day 05:            Trek to Chomrong 1,951m – 06 hours.
Morning walk leads to the top of Ghandruk village with a short climb, and then trekking on a gradual path for a while with uphill to Kimrong ridge with 4-5 tea shops and lodges, from here our route descends to Kimrong valley into cool forested area. On reaching Kimrong River and the village an uphill climb for few hours to the top of Chomrong village. From the top a short downhill to overnight stop at Chomrong village.
This is the last permanent Gurung village and the gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp trek.

Day 06:            Trek to Dovan 2,130m via Bamboo 2,050m – 06 hours.
After Chomrong a short downhill walk on terraced farm fields and to Chomrong River. After crossing bridge an uphill for an hour to Sinuwa danda a small place with few lodges and great views of landscapes and green hills. From here through forest to Bamboo a small settlement, located by the Modi River in the middle of bamboo, rhododendron and oaks forested area. An hour walks up from Bamboo to Dovan for overnight stop, situated in the middle of forest and river gorge.

Day 07:            Trek to Machapuchare Base Camp 3,720m via Deurali – 06 hrs.
From here onwards air gets cooler and fresher entering towards Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp. Walk leads on a pleasant winding path with few ups to Himalaya Hotel near at Hinko Cave, located beneath Hiunchuli peak. Walks leads on glacier and moraine formed by old avalanches, crossing a small bridge near Deurali the last place with lodges before reaching Machapuchare Base Camp. Here onwards vegetation and tree lines disappears with only high alpine bushes and shrubs. Walk leads to a climb following the raging Modi River upstream to reach at Maccahapuchare Base Camp for overnight stop. A well hidden spot with few lodges located beneath North Face of Maccahapuchare Peak, from here onwards starts the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Day 08:            Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130m and return to MBC.
Morning walk with views of Annapurna Mountains heading high on grassy uphill slopes, reaching higher elevation at Annapurna Base Camp with close up views of magnificent Annapurna peaks with Annapurna I a massive mountain. After a good scenic walk reaching at Annapurna Base Camp for lunch with free afternoon to marvel the mountain views and trek back to Maccahapuchare base camp for overnight stops.

Day 09:            Trek to Bamboo 2,050 m – 06 hours.
After grand time around Annapurna Sanctuary and base camp, morning walk heads downhill all the way to Deurali. From here with few ups and downs and some gradual section back into tree lines into serene forested area to reach at Bamboo and a climb with gradual winding walk to a small place at Sinawa for overnight stop.

Day 10:            Trek to Jhinu danda 1,700m via Chomrong – 06 hours.
From here a short steep climb to Khuldi Ghar, and on the winding downhill path through dense forest to Sinuwa danda. From here walk descends to Chomrong khola. After the bridge an uphill walk for less than an hour to reach Chomrong village for rest or for lunch. After Chomrong with half hour climb to the top of Chomrong ridge. From here route descend to Jhinu danda for overnight stop. This village on a ridge offers refreshing bathe in hot springs which is just 20 minutes walk downhill by Modi River.

Day 11:            Trek to Bhirethati 1,100 m and drive back top Pokhara.
Morning downhill for an hour to another New Bridge (Nayapul) by the Modi River, from here following the River Modi downstream all the way to Bhirethati via Syali Bazaar / Bhatti on the earlier route, on reaching Syali or Bhirethati drive back to Pokhara.

Day 12:            Drive to Kathmandu.
Morning a drive to Kathmandu after a wonderful experience to Annapurna base camp, on reaching Kathmandu transfer to respective hotels with afternoon free at leisure for individual activities and shopping.

Day 13:            Depart Kathmandu for international flight homeward bound.
Last day in amazing Nepal, after a wonderful time Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking with grand services of Foot and Shadow Walking Holiday Tours, as per your international flight departure and reporting time, our guide and staff transfer you to airport for your onward flight homeward bound or to next respective countries.

Similarly, Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries for 90 days can be obtained by paying US $ 100. Please bring 2 copies of passport size photos).
